The Son of A Man
Rene Margritte(1898-1967)
Rene Magritte was a Belgium surrealist artist, he is most notably known for his piece Son of A Man. Magritte produced his works in the early to mid 1900s. He studied between 1916 and 1918 at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. Magritte influenced art in the 1980s. The reason I picked this piece is because I like how it is somewhat simple, not too much going on.
To make this piece I mainly used slabs on top of other slabs besides the apple I made on my own.
A challenge I had in the making of this piece was that the black was getting solid enough when I first went over it so I had to go back and do that again. I like how the background turned out. I went over the main body with a clear glaze and for the background, I used Boomin Blue Jungle Gems.
